Talking to media persons in Ahmedabad, Gujarat BJP spokes person Shri Vijay Rupani said that according to booth wise calculation based on new delimitation, the BJP is ahead in 21 Lok Sabha constituencies of Gujarat. In previous Lok Sabha elections the BJP had won only 14 seats in Gujarat.

Rupani said that Gujarat BJP will give priority to women while selecting Loksabha candidates for 25 seats(leaving Gandhinagar seat, which is already allotted to Shri L.K.Advani). He said that the party has decided to allot more tickets to women in this election. Rupani said that the BJP will have more women candidates than the Congress in Gujarat in this election. He said that names of Ex-ministers and existing Gujarat ministers have also come up while discussing the Lok Sabha candidates.

When asked about Smriti Iranis possible candidature from Vadodara, Rupani said that her name has not come from the bottom level, however final decision on Vadodara or any other seat will be made in Delhi.
